I was born in 1973 in Germany and during my childhood my interest in nature grew constantly. I became a frog-enthusiast from very early days on. Since that times I continously kept these kind of animals and made breeding attempts and observations regarding their biology.
I have been to Central America (Honduras, Nicaragua, Cost Rica, and Panama) several times, where I had the opportunity to watch tropical amphibians in the wild. Besides some reptiles I am keeping a focus on captive care and breeding of neotropical frogs.
Besides that nature-photography is a hobby as well. In the meantime the amount of pictures of the herpetofauna of Central America is continously growing...
However, frogs aren't just a hobby, they are profession, too: I studied veterinary medicine from 1993 till 1999 in Giessen, Germany and did my PhD-thesis (Dr. med. vet) in bacteriology. In 2004 I finished exams as a specialist in microbiology and I am now working as a microbiologist at a state facility responsible for animal epizootics. Besides that I am concentrating on herptile-medicine as well, again - especially in amphibians.
